This book, written by the Bishop of Oxford, is a reissue of a 2001 publication. The author retells many Gospel stories in a lively and engaging style and helps the reader to see these ancient tales in a fresh and engaging way. There are eighteen Gospel events retold, with suggestions for prayer, reflection and activities included with each story. They are not a substitute for reading Scripture, but people will discover the Gospel story coming to life through reading this book.

We all need help to see these Bible stories having relevance for Today’s church whether this is from listing to sermons or having the responsibility for preparing and delivering them so that listeners will be encouraged to absorb the implications of Jesus teaching.
